An obituary came from ITTISHAL big family. One of the Steering Committee in the 1st International Conference of Islamic Education (ICIE) 2016, Dr. dr. Ahmad Watik Pratiknya has passed away on Friday, February 19th 2016 in Jakarta. The Executive Director of The Habibie Center passed away after treated in the last few weeks at hospital because of his cancer.
His departure leaves deep wound on all directors and organizing committee of ITTISHAL and ICIE 2016. Mr. Watik has helped the team a lot on preparing the concept of ICIE 2016. With open arms, he gave many insights, advices and important information related to the event. His big support showed to us by providing opportunities to study on international event management. ICIE organizing committee has been given the opportunity to be the observer in the international seminar held by The Habibie Center on November 2015 in Jakarta.
To one of ITTISHAL founder, Al Firdaus, Mr. Watik became one of the most important figure on the journey of Al Firdaus Internationalization Program. The introduction of Al Firdaus to Mr. Watik starting from BJ. Habibie’s visit as single speaker at the talkshow for Alfirdaus 16th Anniversary on March 2013. After the event, Mr. Watik had an opportunity to be the interviewee for scholarly oration in Al Firdaus High School Opening Ceremony to strengthen Al Firdaus Internationalization Program.
His big support to Al Firdaus Internationalization Program continues to flow to us. The next move that Al Firdaus made was teamed up with Assalam Modern Boarding School and Institut Prive Alif from France to initiated schools alliance in international scale, ITTISHAL. Mr. Watik officialy came to ITTISHAL meeting with BJ. Habibie on September 2015 in Yogyakarta. On that meeting, ITTISHAL have an opportunity to convey about ITTISHAL declaration preparation. Mr. Watik was also guide ITTISHAL team in preparing the official declaration charter. Before the meeting officially happens, with his open arms, Mr. Watik has always gave an insights and advice to ITTISHAL team.

ITTISHAL team last encounter with Mr. Watik was when the ITTISHAL Board of Trustees, Hj. Siti Aminah Abdullah along with ITTISHAL President Director and Vice President, Eny Rahma Zaenah and Uripto Mahmud Yunus visit him at the hosipital on Wednesday, February 17th 2016.
So long, Mr. Watik. Thank you for your righteousness on teaching us to be bigger, especially to the next generation. Hopefully, the will be a lot of young generations as clever, well mannered, and wise like you.
